Dr. Elaine Pearson

Dr Pearson is the Director of the Accessibility Research Centre (ARC) and has an international reputation in web accessibility research. ARC, at the Teesside University, has been a lead member in many research projects including the European (EQUAL) Portland partnership. She works closely with TechDis, the Portland Partnership, SmartLab (East London) and many other disability and community groups. Dr Pearson organises disability workshops and conferences and is a regular invited speaker at international conferences. She has been involved in previous JISC projects including Emerge and Interloc, and provides accessibility consultancy to industry.

Dr. Steve Green

Dr Green is the Head of Section for Digital Media in the School of Computing. He has been project manager or technical director for a number of research and enterprise projects, including Assistant Dean (Enterprise) and Director of the Digital Knowledge Exchange, a project providing access to business and the community to University research expertise. Dr Green is a member of ARC, the accessibility research centre and DFI, the Digital Futures Institute and has interests and expertise in e-learning, open systems architectures, open publishing and inclusion. He has been a contributing member to JISC projects in the past; including the JISC Emerge project.

Dr. Voula Gkatzidou

Dr. Gkatzidou is a Researcher with ARC and has currently completed her PhD on accessible and adaptable learning objects. She has a strong publication record in journals and conference and has presented her work at JISC- CETIS accessibility SIG workshops. She has also been involved in the design and development of workshops and carried out consultancy work with SMEs as part of the EDF funded North East IT Reach Out project. Her role in this project will be to co-ordinate the workshops, manage the wiki and the integration of design components and elements.

Mr. Franck-Olivier Perrin

Mr Perrin is a Research Assistant with ARC who has contributed to a number of research and development projects. He is also undertaking a PhD in adaptable personal learning environments. His role will be to install and maintain the Wookie server and to develop the widget technical components.
